Welcome to Photo Verify

This tool lets you create and verify Chain of Custody signatures on image and raw camera files (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, CR2, CR3, NEF).

A Chain of Custody signature embeds a SHA-256 hash of the file directly into the file itself using format-specific metadata mechanisms. Each signature is recorded in a database with the author's name, creating an auditable trail.

• Sign — embed a signature into a file (requires login)
• Check — verify an existing signature and view its chain of custody
• Lookup — upload any unsigned file; the system computes its hash and searches the local database for a matching signature record (local only, does not forward)
• Update — sign a modified file while keeping the link to the original signature
